Aloha, my name is Spencer Shiraishi and I am born and raised on Maui. Growing up in the ocean I began surfing and diving at a young age. With the support of my wife and wanting to feed our children clean and healthy food I began spearfishing more seriously.

As a child I would sit with my uncle Clyde while he told me his wild spearfishing adventures along the east Maui coast and how he was able to feed his brothers and sisters (12 of them). Uncle Clyde didn’t have stores so he built his own speargun and rigged his own gear. Inspired by him I have done the same, feeling more connected to him and my Hawaiian roots.
